Sophisticated Gentlemen's and Ladies Auxiliary Club Still Growing in The Community
A well-known social club located at 1439 Eastern lost their building due to a fire. The good news is that Grand Rapids Planning Commission recently approved a land permit that enables the club to resume operations, which includes the sale of alcohol. The permit also approves live entertainment and other activities in a different building located on the property. The club has about seventy members and growing.
Balloonafied Travels To Florida To Participate in Balloon Wonderland Event
Shanta Abraham recently traveled to Orlando, Florida for an event called Balloon Wonderland that was put together by a guy named Stuart and a woman named Ladonna. Both of them are very big names in the balloon industry. The event was put on for the Give Kids The World Village, which is a eighty-nine acre non-resort located in Central Florida and provides week cost free vacations for critically ill children. Shanta and other Balloon Artist took one of their event rooms and we embellished it with more than three hundred thousand balloons to create a balloon wonderland for the critically ill children.
NOPE
I recently saw an interview and the trailer for Jordan Peele's new movie NOPE. I am drawn into the hype about this film because I am a fan of Peele's movies and his overall body of work. I am surprised that the same man who was a part of the Key and Peele comedy series is also the brilliant brain behind movies like Get Out, US, and Nope. During the interview, Peele kept referring to his newest movie as an "absolute spectacle." The film does not come out until July 22nd, so we will see. Still, his description has me thinking about the word spectacle, how life is a spectacle, or how we look at and for sensational moments in our everyday lives.
