Franklin "Frank" Brown Passes

Franklin (Frank) Brown (of Grand rapids, MI) departed this life on June 10th, 2021 at the age of 87.

He was born on March 4, 1934 to Rev. Samuel David (S.D.) Brown and Mary (Cooper) brown in Birmingham, AL. Frank was the 9th of 11 children. He attended Swift Memorial Junior College in East Tennessee and enlisted in the Army where he served this country, most notably and honorably in the Korean War from November 4, 1952 until October 20, 1955. Afterwards, he attended Anderson College (Indiana).

Mr. Brown was a professional floor cleaner for over 20 years. He owned his own carpeting business (Brown's Floor Covering) starting in the 1990's until retiring in the early 2000s.

He had a real love of music and loved to sing and worship God through song. One of his favorite songs to sing and sometimes play on the piano was Soon and Very soon; another was Jesus Build a Fence All Around Me. He was often asked to sing solos in churches.

Frank was preceded in death by both of his parents and 8 siblings: Charles, Alpheus, Elnora, Marguerite, Sam, J.D., Fredrick and Evelyn.

Franklin Brown leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Valerie Sharp Brown (Grand Rapids, MI), four daughters: Carol Brown (Lynwood, CA), Anjanette Brown (Pittsburg, CA), Dianne Brown (Blacklick, OH) and Alysia (sonin- law-Lynn) Lightfoot (Grand Rapids, MI); three granddaughters: Anakia, Azaria and Amaria Lightfoot (all of Grand Rapids, Mi) and great grandson Jaxson Novak (Grand Rapids, MI), a brother Moses Brown (Kent,WA), a sister Lucy Brown (San Antonio, TX), sisters inlaw Bernice Brown and Alberta Brown, Uncle Curtis "Buster" Brown and Aunt Jean Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives who will miss him.
