Fireprooftv Holds Casting Event For Upcoming Film About Overcoming Bullying
Filmmaker Moe McCoy announced on July 26, 2019 his newest production and film Spring Break The Kids Movie written by Andrea Tyler. Spring Break the movie addresses the very serious and hot button topic of Bullying. She also stars in the movie as a six-foot bear who watches over the camp and protects it against bullies.
"The concept of the movie alone was something that touched home for me not because I was not bullied as a kid, but because I was the big sister who stood up to the bullies in certain situations," said Tyler. "Just being around Moe's son who stars in the movie and is quite a character and it was a joy for me to be able to write him into script form and be able to capture those qualities and different characteristics of him so that everyone else will know his character."
On September first, Fireprooftv held a casting event for the movie at a Boost Mobile store located on South Division. As the stories of young people taking their lives or having serious negative impact from bullying increase and also having experienced it as a child and against his own children Moe McCoy, Filmmaker and the CEO of Fireproof TV wanted to do a film to help address these issues.
"The reason that we wanted to do this movie is because we know that Michigan is ranked in the top 20 in the country for having bullying problems," said McCoy. "I was bullied as a kid and the topic is close to my heart because I have a seven year old son and when he was born, I remember thinking to myself that one day I was going to do a movie for him. So about two years ago, I really started pushing for it but I didn't expect such a large response from the public but I feel that God put it in my spirit to work with a camp, so I had gone to several camps during the summer as a kid, but the one I really can relate to was Camp Tall Turf."
So after making some calls, he aligned Camp Tall Turf with his movie project after contacting CEO Marcus Hardgrave of Tall Turf Ministries who was thrilled about him wanting to shoot a movie at the camp.
"We ended up casting about seventy kids and we will be shooting the movie September 6-8, 2019," said Moe. "The first day we will be doing a meet and great with the cast and crew. The second day we are going to get up bright and early at 5am and film until sundown. The movie was written by Andrea Tyler wrote it and it is just a good anti-bullying movie. We met a lot of talented kids at the casting event and it was amazing to have an idea and be doing something that you are passionate about and to have others latch on to it is a good feeling. The movie will be ready to shown next year during spring break at Celebration Cinema. Shooting movies are exciting and also a lot of work."
Fireproof TV is a Full Service Multimedia Marketing Film Production Company which is managed by CEO and Filmmaker Moe Mccoy. He has produced more than 100 projects in movies, commercial ads, music videos and short films.
