Denali Mayweather Headed To Concordia U
Jordan Denali Mayweather has accepted a Track and Field scholarship to Concordia University in Ann Arbor.
He is continuing the running legacy of his late grandfather, Leroy Edmond, former Grand Rapids resident and educator who ran track for Mississippi Valley State University.
This fall the 18 - year - old Mayweather will major in Computer Science at the Christ - centered university, to prepare for a career in computer graphics and gaming design.
Mayweather, a student at East Grand Rapids High School is currently ranked 1st in the 110 Men's High Hurdles and 1st in the 300 Men's Low Hurdle events for MSHAA Region 17.
He was selected two times as an All - Conference Athlete for his Sophomore and Junior years, winning the OK Gold Conference 110 High Hurdles Championship in 2017.
He also passionately serves his community. For four years he has participated in the Men Moving Mountains Leadership program at Brown Hutcherson Ministries under Christian Verley.
He has served four years as a member of the Grand Rapids Community Foundation's Youth Grant Committee.
His work with the Youth Grant Committee is to help award over $60,000 in grants to organizations serving young people.
Mayweather is the youngest son of Karl and Deidra Mayweather.
