The question is how much do I bet on Michigan to defeat Ohio State. Oh it will be a large, confident one to cover my Christmas expenses.
Man, where was this team earlier in the season? Playing with house money with nothing to lose means the Wolverines will be relaxed while working to make the Buckeyes and one before they play in the Big Ten Championship. Ohio State is also going full steam; but having to go on the road and hook up against a team that believes that they are invincible, in front of a packed big house, is a tall task for any nut. This victory could be that game which gets many people to stop asking what and who has Coach Harbaugh defeated. After the final four teams are selected, the representatives from the other big boys bowls will come running and begging for Michigan to play in their bowl game. Michigan State needs one more victory to be bowl worthy. The Spartans did what they had to do to win on Saturday. Now they must continue their quest to end the season on the good foot. The talking heads are saying that the Spartans will do their bowling in Detroit to the pleasure for many of their faithful. Again, the game is nice, but what you want are the extra practices.
Shame On me for not practicing what I preach. Your Detroit Lions have issues with rookie quarterbacks, which means one would be wise to invest their hard earned dollars on any team playing against the Lions with a rookie quarterback. I didn't so I am dollars short for my lack of knowledge. Again, thank the football gods when Michigan brings the beat down on teams as State and the Lions get beat up on the field of play. Now be prepared for the beat down for the coaches of MSU and Lions in the papers. Oh well, such is life when you perform in front of people.
There have been TV shows which showcase kids saying the darnest things. I was talking to some freshmen football players from EGR who had to play the freshmen team Muskegon Big Red. They said they thought and knew that they would lose to Muskegon because of their reputation. After one quarter of playing the game on the field they said that they started believing in themselves instead of the Big Red reputations and they went on to whip their freshmen team. I asked them did EGR get any home cooking from the referees, and they smiled and said yes. They said they really didn't need any help from the referees to win, but they knew to take what was given to them. I asked how did it feel to know that your opponent is getting cheated and they had no reply. To them it was out of their hands as they just kept playing. Besides they said that they didn't need the help as they had the talent to beat Muskegon straight up because their EGR freshmen class is that good and will be dominant for the next four years in all sports. Like I said, kids say the darnest things.
