IOTA PI Chapter Of The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Holds It's Annual Purple Carpet Scholarship Ball
Iota Pi Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., will be hosting its annual Purple Carpet Scholarship Ball on Saturday, 16 November 2019, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The dinner meeting will start promptly at 6:00 and end at 12:00 p.m. This event will conclude with a dance immediately after the Fraternity's program.
The Purple Carpet Scholarship Ball serves as the culminating event of the Chapter's yearly program activities. It also provides an opportunity for the Chapter to thank benefactors, and other supporters, that have contributed to the chapter's program initiatives. The Chapter will also recognize selected community leaders for their work in the Greater Grand Rapids Community. In addition, several students will receive monetary awards for their participation in the Randall Burt Essay Award Contest. Another student will receive the Sidney Bailey III STEM Scholarship Award for outstanding scholastic achievement in science and mathematics.
Lee Moyer, President (Basileus) of the Iota Pi Chapter expressed the following sentiments: "Scholarship is one of the four cardinal principles of our beloved Fraternity. Each year, we are honored to showcase the scholarly achievements of youth in our community. We look forward to recognizing these individuals for their perseverance and dedication to attaining outstanding scholastic achievement. To know we have somewhat contributed to the lives of these individuals will help support our continued efforts on behalf of the future generation. We feel compelled to doing this important and needed work."
To highlight this event, Dr. D. F. Arnold, an author, consultant and motivational speaker, will serve as the Chapter's guest speaker. He provides training in leadership and motivation to a wide range of individuals, including professional athletes, executives, students and other individuals.
