Mia Love Got Woke! Sort Of?

Remember when your mother or your grandmother would say, "You don't believe fat meat is greasy". This admonition was given when they were trying to tell you something for your own good, but you wouldn't believe it. I'm afraid Mia Love has fallen victim to that ageless warning from her black brothers and sisters regarding the Tangerine Tyrant and the GOP (The Trumplicans).

In a column I wrote a few weeks ago, "Dems In A Position to be 45's Scapegoat", November16 – November 22, 2018, I asked the only black female Republican in the U.S. House, "To get woke!" Well, it appears she is at least opening one eye regarding "her" party and its treatment of people who look like her. In a concession speech on her failed bid for reelection, on November 26th, she had some blistering words for her party and for Agent Orange.

After she lost her bid for reelection for Utah's 4th Congressional District, she issued this tweet. "Now, I am unleashed, untethered and unshackled. And I can say exactly what is on my mind."

I don't know how you interpret her tweet, but to me it sounds like someone who was being held in captivity, verbally, and afraid to speak truly until now. And if that is the case, why would you want to be part of and lend support to, an organization like that?

This is what Mia Love had to say in her concession speech. "I am proud of the fact that I nagged the President every day to bring Josh Holt home. He is an American, and all should know that their country and their representatives will not forget or abandon them. Now when the President, took a jab at me, he thought that the race was over, and he lamented that I wouldn't ask him to come to the state of Utah, I was somewhat surprised at first. But every decision I make, I have to ask myself again, "at what cost".

The President's behavior towards me made me wonder, "what did he gain by saying such a thing about a fellow Republican?" ("Mia Love gave me no love and she lost, too bad, sorry about that Mia") It was not really about asking him to do more was it? Or, was it something else? Well, Mr. President, we'll have to chat about that. However, this gave me a clear vision of his world as it is, no real relationships just convenient transactions. That is an insufficient way to implement sincere service and policy.

This election experience and these comments, (45's) shines a spot light on the problems Washington politicians have with minorities and black Americans. It's transactional, it's not personal, you see we feel like, politicians claim they know, what's best for us from a safe distance yet, they're never willing to take us home!"

I thought that last sentence was deep.

She adds, "Because Republicans never take minorities, minority communities into their home and citizens into their homes and into their hearts, they stay with Democrats and bureaucrats in Washington because they do take them home. Or at least they can feel like they have a home. I've seen the cost of conservatives for not truly taking people into their hearts, Democrats saw newly elected black members and women to congress in this election. This is a matter of fact that Republicans lost in this regard. Under conservative policies we all have a chance, I am a Republican, I know conservative policies work. They lift everyone. The problem is not a policy, it is that we are NEVER taken into hearts."

I'm not feeling a whole lot of sympathy for Mia Love because the GOP didn't just start showing anti - black behavior in its speech and actions yesterday!

Now that she personally has tasted the bitter fruit of racism from the tree of the party of Lincoln, she is shocked and surprised.

Mia please! Under this guy in the White House, this is standard operating procedure.

Everybody is expendable who is not family, especially what few black Republicans are left my half - sleep one.

Mia is right about one thing, and it seems it took what happened to her being thrown under the bus by this party and administration, to get her to see this. The Orange One and the GOP don't care about black and brown people. When the Liar - In - Chief says black unemployment is at record lows because of him, that's a LIE! Those numbers were going down under President Obama, 45 rode in on President Obama's coat tail, let's be real, okay!

I think Mia Love said it perfectly when she said of the GOP in particular and politicians in general, "Republicans never take minorities into their hearts and homes;they stay with Democrats because they do take them home or at least they can feel like they have a home". A black Republican is telling the world that the party she supports does not take people who look like her into its heart and home. And yet, she still supports it, go figure! She is of Haitian descent, remember "s---hole countries?" signed, sealed and delivered by your number one party for bigots!

One black Republican (it's so strange every time I say that) Eugene Craig III, CEO of The Eugene Craig Organization, said this. "Mia has spent the last four years not reaching out to people of color herself, and has spent many times running from people of color. She ran from being branded as a "Black Republican" this is a very rich time for Mia to rediscover her blackness and to discover that this President may just not like black people!" Ya think!

Mia Love got a taste of reality from the reality show White House and a party, "her party", that showed her the color of the GOP (Trumplicans) is red and WHITE! not black. Don't wait for them to "take minorities into their hearts" Mia, it ain't happening sista so open up the other eye and become fully woke!
